2021 Unoaked Chardonnay

Initially beckoned by the hue of bright avocado oil, this wine reveals many layers that will not disappoint!  Refreshing aromas of freshly squeezed Meyer lemon zest, white blossoms, chamomile tea and golden delicious apple morph into more decadent characters of canned peaches with cream, lemon squares dusted with confectioners’ sugar and also the British tea-time staple of scones with clotted cream.  A delicate nuance of cardamom adds yet another layer of depth and richness. The soft attack quickly becomes fresh and lively, expanding with rich texture as it gets into all the nooks and crannies of your palate and the flavour of Meyer lemon peaks and lingers, carrying through the long finish.

Try a play on ‘fresh’ with this wine: fresh salads with some crunch, a ‘raw’ bar, cod or halibut with fresh squeezed lemon, or lemon herb chicken. Or go a bit richer and try it with seafood pizza, a beautiful burrata with grilled vegetables, or perhaps Indian inspired cuisine.
